OUR MATERIALS

We prioritize sourcing materials from regenerative, organic, renewable and recycled sources, and we are committed to supporting biodiversity through our material choices.

We understand that each fibre has its pros and cons in terms of environmental impact and that there is no magic bullet. However, we are careful to assess the environmental impact of all the fabrics we use and the sustainability of the production of these materials is paramount, in addition to considering the life cycle of these materials.

Working with Econyl® means already building the eco-responsible and ethical fashion of tomorrow, far from the excesses of fast fashion, overproduction, and poor quality raw materials.

At VANESSA SPOSI we believe that it is up to us to provide the impetus and also to offer everyone the possibility of consuming differently.

And it is with a fishing net abandoned at the bottom of the sea that it can begin.

Our BATH materials

The majority of our main fabric is made with ECONYL® yarn, a fiber 100% regenerated from nylon waste.

The ECONYL® regeneration system begins by rescuing waste that would otherwise pollute the Earth, such as fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic from around the world. This waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover as much nylon as possible.

Through a racial regeneration and purification process, nylon waste is thus recycled directly to its original purity. This means that ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as fossil-based nylon.

The ECONYL® regenerated nylon is then pre-treated into textile yarn and woven or knitted into high-quality fabric.

This fabric is impressive in terms of comfort as well as durability – and has superior resistance to degradation by chlorine, iodine sunscreens & oils.

The result is cleaner oceans and swimwear that's good for your body & the planet.

Our antioxidant linings

The fabric used for our signature lining contains a real innovation at its heart: 100% natural moisturizing and antioxidant agents microencapsulated in the fabric fiber.

Vitamin E, first of all, protects against free radicals, boosts collagen production and soothes skin overheated by the sun.

Aloe vera, then, a plant renowned in Ayurvedic medicine for uplifting the mind and healing the body, is a natural source of polyphenols, antioxidants that nourish and accelerate cell regeneration.

Once put on, the jersey offers record hydration that fights against the signs of aging caused by UV rays and maintains the elasticity of the skin while giving it an ultra-desirable plump and luminous effect.

MAIN CAUSES OF SKIN OXIDATION

There are a variety of factors that can cause skin aging. Much of this “premature skin aging” is the result of free radical activity in the body. Environmental factors such as pollution and solar radiation generate free radicals in the skin.

ANTIOXIDANT INGREDIENTS

Antioxidants are naturally occurring substances that can provide protection against the damaging effects of free radicals on skin cells.

The combination of vitamin E and aloe vera helps protect the skin from the effects of oxidation.

What is an antioxidant swimsuit and How does microencapsulation work?

  • This technology selects the most suitable cosmetics for each function. These cosmetics are micro-encapsulated.
  • Microencapsulation technology, microcapsules are incorporated into the nylon yarn during the spinning process; thus they are fixed in and out of the nylon filaments.
  • Cosmetotextile technology the contents of the microcapsules are released when the garment is used in contact with body heat.
  • This technology helps the skin fight against oxidation during the use of the garment, hydrate the deep layers of our skin, reduce the effects of time, restore cellular balance and prevent stretch marks.

Our SUMMERWEAR materials

As with our swimwear, all materials used for VANESSA SPOSI clothing are carefully and intentionally selected for minimal impact on the environment.

For our summer clothing, we focus on natural fibers, such as cotton gauze and linen.

Our bags and hats are made from natural reed or palm straw.
