This collection was an exploration into more sustainable alternatives to production, while still maintaining signature Vanessa Sposi detailing and design, without compromising on quality and craftsmanship. a considered Collection, ÉTÉ 03 tenders quality over quantity – focusing on form, functionality and the simplicity of luxurious fabrics and natural fibres.
Like so many, last year was a time of daydreaming, of letting the imagination take over while we were confined by closed borders (living in pandemic Paris was still living in the pandemic). The ÉTÉ 03 Collection speaks to that wanderlust, and thinking of past trips to Italy (particularly to Puglia, location of our shoot this season) and easier, lighter times.
Because life was restricted, and fantasizing about holiday destinations was the closest I came to travel for a while, I looked for inspiration in fragments of organic materials; seashells picked up on walks on the beach in my native Brittany, swimwear my mum had kept from the 90s, swatches of natural materials that started as ideas and became real throughout the design process.
This is a season inspired by small things and big dreams. Now, with Spring starting to brighten our days, I’m excited to share this collection in the hopes that it brings the dreamy feeling of escape to yours.
